September  2020

1st        Welcome Evening   A chance to gather and chat about our Summer and to meet new members.  Please bring along 3 or 4 pictures showing what you got up to in the Summer or how you coped with Social Isolation !

8th        Guest Speaker : John Perriam  ARPS DPAGB AFIAP  John’s talk is called ‘Mostly Creative, Mostly Fun’  Have a look at some of John’s work on   www.flickr.com/photos/johnperriam/albums  and you will be amazed what you can do with some imagination !

15th      Joint Arts Project   We are hosting the J.A.P. when we welcome artists and writers from Teignbridge. The artists started off the process, their work was interpreted by the writers and then the photographers worked on the written pieces  ( without seeing the art work !) . You will see the final results tonight, a bit like artistic Chinese whispers .  It should be fascinating !

22nd     Monthly Competition round 1 PDI    Judge David Clapp  FRPS

29th      Critique   Bring  up to 4 images, either as prints or PDI  for critique. This is a themed evening and you can choose one or both  of two themes,  Circles  or Slow Shutter speed.

 6th        Members’  Projects  A chance for 5 members to show us what they have been working on.

13th      Inter Club Battle   We host the Challenge Shield  battle between ourselves, Plymouth, Ivybridge and  Kingsbridge.

November

10th      Critique  Bring  up to 4 images, either as prints or PDI  for critique. This is a themed evening and you can choose one or both  of two themes, Creatures and Low Light.

17th      Guest Speaker  Clive Figes    Clive will be talking about the trials and tribulations of a professional portrait photographer.

24th      Print Presentation  We shall be seeing the best work from the WCPF 2020 exhibition.

1st        Guest Speakers  A group of 6 lady photographers from the Exeter Camera club who exhibit images, meet up for craft days and of course, are Ladies Who Lunch !  They have a creative twist to their work which I know we shall enjoy.

15th      Christmas Social    when we have our usual feast and triptych competition.

26th  Monthly Competition  Round 4 Prints  Judged by Ken Holland  ARPS  DPAGB

30th      The 24 hour challenge :  Take photographs anywhere in Teignbridge from Saturday 10 AM to Sunday 10 AM . All within the boundaries of Teignbridge as defined by the Teignbridge website. Try to make it obvious where you are in Teignbridge. A Robin in your back garden does not really count ! We hope to show this work at Newton’s Place.

February

 2nd       Practical :  Portraiture  with Clive Figes  . Cllive is following up his talk earlier in the year with an opportunity for us to take portraits, so bring your cameras and tripods.

9th        President’s Evening  Who knows what Alan has in store for us this year, whatever it is it will be entertaining!

March

2nd       Club Swap  Plymouth Camera Club will be entertaining us  with a variety of work from it’s members.

9th        Presentation of the 24 hour challenge  Present up to 3 photographs , PDI or prints, taken during the 24 hours of  Saturday January 30th 10 AM to  Sunday January 31st 10 AM. The pictures must have been taken within the boundaries of Teignbridge. This is not a competition but an opportunity to show how inventive you have been ! And to show the many aspects of Teignbridge.

16th      Guest Speaker  Rupert Kirkwood    ‘Up the creek and far beyond’ is Rupert’s title and indicates his love of photographing wildlife from his kayak around Devon and Cornwall. See his website www.thelonekayaker.wordpress.com to see what he has been capturing ( including a swimming badger !)

23rd      Competition : Master Photographer   Enter one print or PDI from each of three themes, choose from the following selection :

  1. Nature 2. Creative 3. Architecture   4. People

  See the Rules pages in this booklet or the club website for full details . The competition will be judged by a panel of photographers from Kingsbridge Photographic Club.

30th      Guest Speaker  Victoria Hillman    It has been requested to have Victoria back and so here she is.  If you haven’t seen her work before, especially her creative macro natural history work, then have a look at her website www.vikspics.com

Entries are needed for the Images of the year competition, prints and PDIs. See rules pages for details.

Remember, it must be old work already shown in the monthly competitions and Master Photographer.

April

6th        Presentation by our own Audio Visual group led by Alan Boothman. Over the last 9 months members have been working on their AV sequences for tonight and some will be entering the WCPF AV competition.

13th      Competition   Images of the Year    To be judged by the membership so please bring ipads, tablets and smart phones that use the app Photoclub Scorer.

20th      Presentations :  The location group will be showing work from their outings over the year.

27th      AGM  A chance for you to have a say about any aspect of the club. Any key issues you want discussing that may not be on the agenda must be with the secretary a week in advance.
